Baby Weight Be Gone: Post #5 & 6

Yesterday, I did 45 minutes on the treadmill (steady pace, raised my heart rate) and then some ab work.

Today, I did an hour on the treadmill with intermittent jogging stretches for 3 minutes at a time..probably only jogged about 6 or 9 minutes but that's good for me!

I weighed in at 182 but really the numbers don't matter to me.  I just want to enjoy getting dressed again!

I was beating myself up about not working out over the weekend but decided that a negative attitude will get me nowhere.  It's time to just look ahead and that is what I'm doing!

Merry Christmas from the Biehls

Do you have any holiday traditions?

We have a few! 

We always get our tree the day after Thanksgiving. This year we drove to Michigan to pick out a blue spruce tree.  Those trees are too expensive in Indiana.  We justified the trip by making to sure to visit our friend that lives up there! I'm just a bit picky when it comes to Christmas trees...and thankfully my hubby knows and understands that, lol! Why else would he agree to drive 3 hours to get a tree?! 

We also begin watching our favorite Christmas movies! We start with Home Alone -- always making sure to have popcorn and soda at the ready! Then we watch Home Alone 2 and then Christmas Vacation.  This year we got to watch Christmas Vacation on the big screen! My hubby's work had a dinner and then we all went to the local theater and watched the movie along with our free concessions! It was a fun night!

Lastly, Christmas gifts.  Mark and I only buy each other an ornament from Hallmark each year.  Neither of us really likes shopping so this eliminates having to shop for each other! We generally try to pick an ornament that has meaning...like last year, I made sure to get him the Home, Sweet, Home ornament since we had moved into the new house we built.  This year, I got him a Star Wars Clone Wars ornament because he started watching and liking that show this year! We also buy Collin an ornament each year (this will be the 2nd year).  Mark's parents did that for him every year and for me once we started dating! They still give us each an ornament every year! Our tree has quite the Hallmark collection! LOL! 

Mark started this whole ornament tradition for us right before we started dating nearly 11 years ago.  Just before I left the halls at school for Christmas Break, Mark came over and gave me a Scooby-Doo ornament (I was a big fan back then).  We weren't dating just then, but I was sure hoping! Anyways, I made it out to the car and my mom saw what he gave me and said "Oh it's a match made in Heaven!" HA! And now, almost 11 years later (Dec. 27) here we are :)   

Lastly, on Christmas eve we attend the service at church.  It is always a beautiful candlelit service where we take time to slow down and truly remember and appreciate the reason we celebrate Christmas.  I look forward to being able to tell Collin about the meaning of Christmas and why we have a tree and give presents and everything else! 

So, a day early, Merry Christmas from the Biehl Family.  We hope you have a wonderful day with your families and that all your days are filled with love, laughter and special memories. 

Baby Weight Be Gone #4

Today was a rest day.  Because of this, I was careful not to eat too much crappy food. 

Tomorrow, I hope to do some Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga! I really can't wait until the gym is back open.

Baby Weight Be Gone #3

This mid-morning I did 20 minutes on the elliptical, 10 minutes on the spinner, weights, crunches, ladders, jumping jacks and wall sits. 45 minute workout total.


Only 3 days in and I have SO much more energy! Obviously, my body was needing this! The gym is closed tomorrow (because my husband's work is closed) so I'm going to have to get creative with my workout!

"Baby" weight Be Gone: Post #1

Ok, so to begin with, I'm not sure I can even call it baby weight anymore..I mean..Collin's a year old now...so I'm pretty sure it's just good 'ole flab at this point, but it made for a cute post title :)

Secondly, I'm going to be documenting my attempt to get healthy (and drop some lbs).  Mostly, this is to hold myself accountable.  Basically, I'm tired of feeling fat.  I'm tired of feeling ugly.  I'm tired of dreading putting on jeans and clothes in general.  I'm tired of being tired all the time.  When I work out, I feel better all around.  Of course, I say these things to my hubby and he gets upset--he doesn't find me fat or ugly (love is blind).  LOL.  But he knows that I want to feel better and he is supportive--he just doesn't like it when I talk badly about myself.  So, from here on, it will be a positive attitude. 

So, today was day 1 of my work-out.  I weighed in at 180.6 pounds.  I worked out for 30 minutes on the Arc Trainer and then did some butterfly presses (70 lbs)- 4 reps of 10.  Pushups, wall sits, ladders, and ab work on the exercise ball.  In all, I worked out 45 minutes. 

I am so thankful that I can work out for free at the Health Club at my husband's work.  And best of all, nobody was there.  I hate working out in front of people. 

So, that's day 1.  I plan to work out every day this week and next week.  I don't have to babysit so now's the time to get my rear in gear!
